Originally from Isfahan, Sara Hamidi is a follower of Mohammad-Reza Shajarian, one of the most acclaimed masters of the Persian vocal tradition. She vigorously defends female singing at the heart of the Persian tradition, an art which remains, even today, the subject of multiple bans in Iran. Her unparalleled technique, characteristic of the great vocal school of Isfahan, fully showcases the expressive refinement of tahrir, which is known for its singular style of vibrato that gives colour and unique emotion to the melody. The ornamental nuances of song here echo the poetic lyrics and their calligraphy. 

This quartet is particularly committed to the fundamental forms of the classical musical tradition, and takes its inspiration from the great Persian poets such as Rûmi, Hâfez, Saadi and Khayyâm. Sara Hamidi is accompanied by an exceptional instrumental ensemble that not only serves, but also brings nuance to, each lyric.
